First Day of School

Today the girls started this years school. Lexi started middle school, 7th grade, at Skyview so she had to wake up earlier but gets home earlier. Her first day was a success. She was astonished how fast the day went. She likes her new teachers and had her good friends and some new friends she made to hangout with at lunch.

lex embarrassed of mom taking her picture in front of one of her friends, whose mom said hey i just did that too lol!

Mia and Madison started 5th and 3rd grade this year. Mia was so excited she woke us all up at 5 am lol! They like their new teachers and were soooo excited to see and be with their friends again. Their first day back was a success! They go school at a different time, later than lex so they rode their bikes to school together, something they love doing.

Too Cool!

Madi and Mia all ready to go!

Off they go!!!

We are all looking forward to this new and awesome year!

Nic and Nat Make A Twin Log Bed Together

We decided to do a side project, as if we dont have enough projects lol, and we built a bed together. We got a white spruce and Natalie stripped the bark off of them with a machete, then Nic cut them to size. We then sanded them after they dried for a couple of days. We got our bed dimensions and cut the 2x4s and 1x3s for the cross members that the mattress lays on. Then we lacquered it so that the wood will stay looking good over time. It turned out pretty cool! Now we have it up to sell:)

we weren't ready for the pic... try again

us happy with our finished product:)

Afterwards we enjoyed some ice cream, here's merek after he scarfed his down lol! He loves mint chocolate like his mommy and daddy!

Bike Ride On All The Trails At Tsalteshi

We rode all the trails at Tsalteshi for fun. We had a great time and a good workout. We saw a moose with two babies on the upper trails, we have run into her a few times out there. Merek had a blast as always on the trip. He loves ripping down the downhills in his bike trailer that's attached to Nat. We hit 20 mph on one downhill which left all of us saying 'weeeee' and ended with merek laughing about his free rollercoaster rides:) We watched the sun on the horizon and all its magnificent colors as the clouds started to blow away and the good weather moved in that evening. It all made for an epic ride!

us waiting as the moose and her babies walked up the mountain ahead of us.

merek all smiles while on our trip.

Afterwards merek ran over to the trees and had to show them to us. So we took some pictures in there.

Chicken Feet!

Merek loves his chicken feet slippers, he wears them around after his bath time. He thinks he's a big boy when he has them on, he will step one foot forward and show them to us and smile. :) He likes his slippers better than socks. He cannot stand socks in fact we had to get him shoes that are half sandal half shoe so he doesn't have to wear socks. Maybe if all socks were cool chicken feet they would be more fun to wear!:)

Pivot Point

We went to pivot point to climb and ended up camping because the arm was closed to get back home. That was ok though we def had an adventure:)
Between meeting an olé timer climber who was one of the first to develop routes on the arm and where we were climbing, then there was the old man we met walking his bike down the arm ẃe picked up, our couple hours in anchorage getting food and then our night camping and chatting along the arm. It was a lot fun and laughs.
