Nic and Natalie's First Climb of the Summer-Boy Scout Rocks

Nic, Natalie, and Merek after we left Anchorage we went to Boy Scout rock and climbed. We warmed up on our first routes of the season with climbing Cub Scout 5.2, Eagle Scout 5.7, Explorer Scout 5.8, and the 5.9 variations near Explorer Scout. We plan on going back in a few days and hitting the 5.10 there called the Plymouth Scout as well as going to Pivot Point. Great day of climbing, opening up the summer for some excellent adventures!

Us and Dad Hiking Skyline

Dad, Nic, Natalie and Merek hiked Skyline. It was a great day with legendary views and lots of sunshine! It was a first time for Nat's Dad and Merek up there. Merek absolutely loves hiking in the backpack and Dad was able to scope out the views for future places for us all to adventure to.

Doesn't get much better than this!

The traverse trail towards the Fuller Trail.

The top of that was our end goal this day and we went up and did it so we could see the whole area.

Us and Dad on the Primrose Trail

We took a hike with Dad on the Primrose Trail. There is still snow apparently on the summits of the peaks up there so we decided to head to the waterfall and eat some food and enjoy the scenery. It was 12 miles round trip and beautiful! The weather got chilly as the evening came upon us but it was nothing we were not prepared for so the trip was excellent!

We took a rest about 6 miles in since the snow started to get deeper the further up we went. Nats Dad, Steve, went up and scouted it out only to realize that the snow got to almost three feet deep higher up. At that point we decided to head back to the waterfall and eat.

Our packs as we took a rest

Nat and Merek looking at the waterfall. We were all amazed by its beauty. It was about 200 feet tall and it could be heard from the main trail head thundering through the canyon. Seeing it was awesome!

The Kids and Us at Captain Cook Beach

We went to Captain Cook Beach and hung out for the day. The kids had a blast playing in the water and in the sand, as well as climbing on the boulders and enjoying the sunshine:)

Merek got frustrated walking on the beach because it was uneven ground, that part he didn't like so much but once he found a spot to play he was happy......
