Reed Lakes Trail
We went to Reed Lakes and hiked to Lower Reed Lake. We jumped the gun again this year and hiked above 3,000 feet which entailed getting our feet wet in June snow. We scrambled over a talus field of car sized boulders for a couple miles mixed with snow and mud, but well worth it as we turned and went up into an epic bowl of jagged toothed mountains that look so very similar to pictures in Alpine magazine of the Sharks Fin in Meru. The landscape reminded the kids of scenes in Lord of The Rings. The kids did AWESOME on this hike! We were so proud of them and they had so much fun. We had a fantastic time outside. When we came down and out we went camping at a place in Palmer off the Old Glenn. It was a really nice campground. A good find. Then we took the kids to Anchorage and had a good time there before heading home. Everyone had a great time:)

Pictures don't do the massive size of the mountains any justice.
